Problem
User wants to import Category
Systems from a different file, but
not unit costs
Diagnosis
The user wants to use one starter file,
but add some Categories or
Category
Systems from a different file.
Solution
First, export data from the source file.
1. Open the file that is providing the categories (e..g. Construction Starter File).
2. Choose Export from the File menu, choose Other Items from the submenu, and choose All
Categories from the second submenu.
3. It will show a record/date range dialog. Leave it at "all items" and click OK.
4. It will ask to save a file on the hard drive. Pick a file name and location (remember
where it is!) then click Save.
Now import:
1. Open your company file (or a new starter file if you are just starting).
2. Choose Import from the File menu, and choose Company File from the submenu.
3. Select the file you just exported.
4. Goldenseal business
management software will bring in the new categories.
To revise categories:
1. Choose Category Setup from Costs menu, choose Category Systems from submenu.
2. Check them and delete, rename, etc.
3. Choose Category Setup from Costs menu, choose Categories from submenu.
4. Check them and delete, rename, etc
