Import Errors

Problem

They did an import of data, and it gives error messages in the Import Log.

Diagnosis

Sorry, trouble importing field XXX-- This is rarely serious. Generally it happens when we have added new fields, and forgot to put in something to set the value for it. Frequently we haven't even started using the field yet, it may just be something under development for future versions of Goldenseal accounting software.

This File contains data for XXX-- The import file contains Goldenseal data for some other class. The user can decide to import anyhow, which may make sense (e.g. if exporting some material suppliers from a Quickbooks import, and then importing them as subcontractors).

Solution

Get the 4-letter tags that it complains about, and log them in Problem Log anyhow. We periodically tidy up the various import/export error messages just so users don't get freaked out by them.
