Using Material Takeoffs

NOTE-- We retired the BidMagic Material Takeoff Software in 2001. It has been replaced by Goldenseal Material Takeoff Software.

We still include this BidMagic estimating software manual as a convenience for users of our older program. Many features are similar, in Goldenseal estimating.

Using a Material Takeoff List

You can use a material takeoff list to order materials for part or all of a project.
BidMagic Material Takeoff Software generates two types of material takeoffs-- a Materials By Work Done report and a Combined Materials report.

Usually you'll make both types of report at the same time. If you wish to create takeoffs which show only one kind of report, follow these steps:
1. Choose Preferences from the Navigate menu.
2. Click the button for Takeoff Type.
3. Select the type of report you'd like to receive.

Materials by Work Done Report

The Materials By Work Done report shows you the materials required for each item of work entered in Specifications.

Each Specifications line item is listed, along with the specific materials that will be needed for that line item.
