About the BidMagic Takeoff Module

NOTE-- We retired the BidMagic Material Takeoff Software in 2001. It has been replaced by Goldenseal Material Takeoff Software.

We still include this BidMagic estimating software manual as a convenience for users of our older program. Many features are similar, in Goldenseal estimating.

The BidMagic Takeoff Module is an extension to the BidMagic Material Takeoff Software. It creates material takeoff lists, and updates material unit prices whenever lumberyard prices change.

Material takeoffs are detailed reports of the materials you will need to purchase for each project, as well as the total quantities of those materials. You can make them for an entire construction project, or for just some parts.

Material price updating uses a database of construction material prices to calculate the latest material unit prices. Whenever supplier prices change, enter the new numbers, and BidMagic will update the material unit costs used for future bids.

The new prices are calculated with the help of material assemblies that list the actual materials that will be used in each unit price. You can add new materials, create new assemblies, or change any of the items that are already in the material price database or the assembly database.
