Excel Windows

Here are the window controls used in the MacNail construction accounting software:

NOTE-- In 2000, MacNail was replaced by Goldenseal construction accounting software. Goldenseal is an integrated program that includes general accounting, job costing, payroll and project billing, plus estimating and other features. It also uses the same basic interface as all other Macintosh and Windows software programs.

* Close Box: The close box or 'go away' box closes a window. If it is the only window of a file, it will remove the entire document from view. If it is one of several windows, the document will still be open.
* Scroll Controls: Click on the scroll box and drag it to move several pages at a time. Click on the gray area above, below, right of or left of the scroll box to move one full screen at a time. Click on the down, up, right or left arrow to move one line at a time.
* Size Box: To permanently change the size of a window, use the window, size box in the lower right corner.window, scroll bar
* Title Bar: To move a window to a new location, drag on its window, title bar with the mouse.
* Window Splitter: Use the window splitter to create two sections of the window--known as a split screen. Then you can allow one section to remain stationary while you scroll through and work on the other section. You generally will not need to use the window splitter. MacNail already uses it to provide constant headings for each worksheet section.
* Zoom Box: You can open any of the windows, in multiple window display, to full screen size by clicking in the window, zoom box (to the right of the window title). Click a second time in the zoom box to return it to its smaller size.

Finding windows

If you work with many windows at one time, you may find that some get hidden by other windows. Use the WINDOW menu from Excel's menu bar to find them and bring them to the front of the 'desktop'desktop management
