Payroll-- Entering Hours |
Making the Weekly Payroll Each pay period, the MacNail construction payroll software uses a two step process to generate the weekly payroll. You will first make a Labor Report to get the hours for each employee (and check the accuracy of your job cost data). Once the labor hours are correct, you will make a Payroll Report that will figure all payroll withholding and taxes for each employee. NOTE-- Our newer Goldenseal construction payroll software is much easier to use! Entering hours is faster, and you can write payroll each week, almost instantly. The Labor Hours Report To make a labor hours report, choose *Reports from the DATA menu, and click on Labor hours. When asked for a date range, choose Last Pay Period (see also page 100). Information about each employee will be added to the Report, and all labor items from the Labor Log (or Logs) will be included. If the hours are correct, you can proceed to the next step. If the hours are not correct, check the Labor Log, fix any mistaken hours, and make the Labor Report again. If you have salaried employees, don't worry about the hours shown for them in the Labor Report. You can adjust to the salaried rate later on. Employees with more than one wage
rate (see page 115) will show up on more than one line of the Labor Report. Check their hours
at each rate. |
