More Accounting File Management

To move a file using the Finder:
1. Open folders as needed until you can see the desired file icon.
2. Click on the icon, and drag it to a new location. You may have to stash it temporarily on a spare corner of the Desktop so you can open and close folders first.

NOTE-- In 2000, MacNail was replaced by Goldenseal construction accounting software. Goldenseal is an integrated program that includes general accounting, job costing, payroll and project billing, plus estimating and other features. Goldenseal stores all of your company info in a single company file.

To delete a file using the Finder:Files, deleting
1. Open folders as needed until you can see the desired file icon.
2. Click on the icon, and drag it into the trash.

To make another copy of a file using the Finder
1. Open folders as needed until you can see the desired file icon.
2. Click on the icon, and choose Duplicate from the FILE menu.

To back up a file using the Finder: .
1. Put a backup floppy disk into the floppy disk drive.
2. Open folders as needed until you can see the desired file icon.
3. Click on the icon, and drag it onto the floppy disk icon. If there is already an older copy of the file on the floppy disk, you will be asked if you want to replace it. Click OK.

HINT: To make backing up easier in the MacNail construction accounting software, set your folders to By Date in the View menu. It will let you see what has been changed since the last backup.
