Material Costs Job Cost Info |
NOTE-- In 2000, MacNail was replaced by Goldenseal construction accounting software. Goldenseal is an integrated program that includes general accounting, job costing, payroll and project billing, plus estimating and other features. Goldenseal also handles job costing, with a more advances system that is much easier to use. Category Type a construction category code into the cat column. For items that will be assigned to a job, use the letter or number code from the Summation level of MacNail estimates. See page 69 for more about categories. NOTE: If you are using more than one category system on different jobs (for example, CSI and MacNail, or MacNail 2.2 and MacNail 3.0), be careful to use the correct category codes for the project. construction Subcategory If you are tracking job costs using Clearinghouse subcategories, enter a subcategory code into the sub column. Otherwise, you can leave this column blank. Total The total column multiplies number of units times unit price to arrive at a total
price. It may or may not include sales tax or discounts, depending on how you have set the
formula (see page 89). To change the sales tax or discount rate that the MacNail construction accounting software uses for a supplier, go to the Master Index and type in a new rate in the proper row of the Sales Tax column. In some cases you may want to type a price directly into the Total column. This will remove the unit price calculation formula, but there is no harm in this if you are sure the price you have typed in is correct. NOTE: You may need to unprotect the document before typing a number directly into
the total column. Choose Unprotect Document from the OPTIONS menu. (See
