Payroll Options |
MacNail Accounting 3.4 increases the flexibility you have when setting payroll options. Use the Payroll Options, Payday Options and Date Options commands to tell the MacNail accounting software exactly how you do your payroll, before you use MacNail to generate Payroll Reports. NOTE-- In 2000, we replaced MacNail with Goldenseal construction payroll software. Goldenseal is an integrated program that includes general accounting, job costing, payroll and project billing, plus estimating and other features. It includes a much better payroll system, with Wage Schedules that determine pay periods, paydays, and other payroll details. Payroll Options Choose Payroll Options from the Options menu to set up the way you do your payroll. First, select a pay period-- it can be weekly, bi-weekly (every two weeks), semi-monthly (twice a month), or monthly. If you use some other interval between pay periods, you can also choose the 'Every xxxx Days' option, and type in an interval such as 3 days or 10 days-- it must be a whole number of days. Choose a method for computing Worker's Compensation in the MacNail payroll software. You can use a different rate for each person, a different rate for each category of work done, or a flat rate for the entire company. If you choose 'By person', the worker's comp numbers for each employee in the Employee Index or Master Index will be used to compute the rate. If you choose 'By work category', the rate for each item of work will be based on the actual work done, using the rates for each construction cost category that are stored in the far right columns of the Master Index. If you choose 'Flat rate', a single worker's comp rate will be used for everyone in your company. NOTE: In order to compute Worker's Comp 'by work category', you will need to keep accurate records of the work done by each employee, using a Labor Log file. |
