Printer Flag

Every account and transaction record in Goldenseal small business software includes a Printer Flag button, at the lower left corner of the window. The Printer Flag is the second button from the left, next to the Flag Box.

Using The Printer Flag

The Printer Flag button shows you whether the record has already been printed.

A new record starts out with the Printer Flag turned on, since it has not yet been printed.

After you print the record, Goldenseal automatically turns off the Printer Flag.

The Printer Flag works like any checkbox.  Click on the printer to change its status. Click again to return it to the previous status.

HINT-- You might want to change the Printer Flag, if you don't need to print a record, or if you need to print it twice.

Printing with the Printer Flag

When you use the Print Forms command, you have the option to print only Unprinted items (those that have a checkmark on the printer). To print all unprinted records, follow these steps:

  1. Open the window for the type of record you want to print.
  2. Choose Print Forms from the File menu.
  3. Enter Unprinted Records into the Record Range popup field. HINT-- If you are printing bank checks, choose Unprinted Checks instead.
  4. Click the Print button.

Viewing Unprinted Items

Before you print unprinted records, you may want to check your records first, to make sure you don't print some old items accidentally!

To view the items that are currently marked for printing, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Find From the Edit menu.
  2. Click on the Printer Flag icon (in the lower left corner) so there is a check mark there.
  3. Click the Find button.
  4. You'll see all records that are currently unprinted.

HINT-- To change the printer flag in all selected items, first change the current record, and then choose Replace All from the Edit menu.
