Carpet Removal Cost |
Construction ITEM DESCRIPTION Construction demolition unit cost for the removal of carpeting. Unit Size One square foot of carpeted area. Labor Costs We figure an unskilled worker can remove about 170 square feet of carpeting per hour. This price assumes one layer of carpet, installed with minimal adhesive, with or without a carpet pad. It includes lugging the carpeting to a dump truck or dumpster, but not the hauling cost. Material Costs We figure one wrecking bar per 500 square feet of carpet removal. This cost covers lost and damaged tools, plus incidentals such as gloves and dust masks. Suggested Quantity This unit cost uses the calculated flooring demolition area. You'll probably need to fill in actual areas that have carpet on them, since most projects will probably have a mixture of flooring types. Source of Construction Pricing We averaged the time taken for carpet removal during several remodeling projects done by Turtle Creek Construction.
