Project Take-Down Cost

Construction ITEM DESCRIPTION

Construction unit cost for equipment removal and other "take down" time.

Labor Costs

The unit size is an hour of takedown time. We divide it 50/50 between skilled and unskilled labor.

Material Costs

None.

Suggested Quantity

No suggested quantity. We have never figured a good "rule of thumb" estimate since it seems to depend on the quirks of the project. You might want to include 1 or 2 hours of take-down time for small projects, and 5 to 20 hours for larger ones.

HINT-- Including adequate take-down costs in your estimates will help you to shift some of your overhead expenses to "hard" construction costs.

Source of Construction Pricing

Very simple logic.
