Drywall Jack Rental Costs

Construction ITEM DESCRIPTION

Construction unit cost covering the rental of a drywall jack for one day. Generally it is used for lifting gypsum wallboard for installation on ceilings or very high wall surfaces.

HINT-- Many people call this a "sheetrock jack", however Sheetrock is a registered trademark so we don't use it as a generic name for fear that swarms of lawyers will descend on this site to scotch tape us into submission. Oh wait, scotch tape is also a registered trademark.

Labor Costs

We figure 1/2 unskilled hour per day for pickup and return of the jack.

HINT-- You may want to increase the labor cost if you are in a big-city or remote area, where driving time is longer.

This unit cost does not include the time you spend actually using the drywall jack. That time is already covered in the wall and ceiling unit costs.

Material Costs

We get the rental costs from a local source. Prices will vary by region and by rental period.

Suggested Quantity

No suggested quantity. You'll need to use your judgement on the amount of time required.

HINT-- If you hang a lot of drywall you probably own a jack and don't need this item. It's intended mainly for small construction contractors and remodelers who need to rent a jack only occasionally.

Source of Construction Pricing

Very simple logic.
