Macintosh PowerPC |
Problem In Goldenseal accounting software versions 4.5 and 4.55, we switched our compiler and build platform from CodeWarrior to Apple's XCode, which allows Intel-native code. Most of the switch went smoothly, but a couple of users have reported problems that may be caused by differences in code produced by the XCode compiler. As a temporary measure, we'll have an optional PPC-native version of Goldenseal 4.6, compiled with CodeWarrior (as we used in Goldenseal 4.4 and earlier). Suggested By User bug report and Turtlesoft testing. How to Use If you have problems that appear to be caused by the recent compiler switch, we'll give you a link in the update download system, so you can download the PPC-native code. NOTE-- PowerPC code will run on any Macintosh with an Intel chip, with the help of Rosetta. With newer versions of Mac OS X, you may need to download Rosetta in order to run the PPC version of Goldenseal. Technical Details Programmer note-- same code, different compiler. |
