Job Costs-- Amount & Job Cost Amount |
Problem The itemized breakdown of expenses in the Job Costs window was showing transaction amounts, rather than job cost amounts. That could cause confusion, if users expected to see the job cost amount. Caught By User bug report. Workaround The report under Reports--Projects--Itemized Job Costs uses the job cost amount. Solution The transaction amount is sometimes useful-- for example, if matching expenses against actual check amounts. So we now show both the transaction amount, and the job cost amount in the lists of itemized breakdowns in the Job Costs window. For material and other costs, the job cost amount is always equal to the transaction amount. For labor and subcontractor costs, the job cost amount may be different from the transaction amount, depending on how it is calculated.
