W-2 Form Changes

The layout of the W-2 form has changed. It has been updated in the "stock" print forms in Goldenseal payroll software version 4.1.

We have also added fields in Employee accounts, so you can have separate first name, last name and name suffix fields. Starting with version 4.1, these are now part of the "stock" layout for Employees.

How to Use

The new layouts and Employee account fields will appear automatically when you update to version 4.1.

If you have customized the layouts for the W-2 printed form and/or the Employee account window, then you'll either need to revert to the original layout, or change the layouts yourself to include the new setup.

To revert to the original layout for W-2 forms, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Custom Layouts from the Options menu, and choose Printed Forms from the submenu.
  2. Enter Employee Accounts into the Transaction popup field at upper left.
  3. Enter W-2 Form into the Form Type popup field.
  4. Choose Revert to Original from the File menu.
  5. Close the layout, and save changes.
