Schedule Updating

Feature

Goldenseal 3.8 adds an option to update schedules manually, rather than automatically.

Turning off the automatic updating makes it easier to enter new line items in an estimate, or change quantities. You won't have to wait for the schedule to update after you add or change each item. It can be a real time saver in estimates that have hundreds of line items.

How to Use

If you'd like to use manual schedule updating, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Preferences from the Options menu, and choose Income from the submenu.
  2. Turn on the Manual Schedule Updating checkbox.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Goldenseal will not update schedules when you change line items in an Estimate. You'll need to click the Update Schedule button to get new schedule dates.

NOTE-- If you change the project start date, Goldenseal will still recalculate the entire schedule, even when it is set to manual updating. If you change the start date for a line item, Goldenseal will calculate the start date for all line items below the change.

If you'd like to use automatic schedule updating, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Preferences from the Options menu, and choose Income from the submenu.
  2. Turn off the Manual Schedule Updating checkbox.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Goldenseal will update the schedule whenever you change an estimate line item.
