Breakdown Total Fields

Goldenseal 3.8 adds some optional fields that give total amounts and total quantities for breakdowns in a transaction.

How to Use

To add these new custom fields to a layout, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Custom Layouts from the Options menu, and choose Transactions from the submenu.
  2. Use the popup fields at upper left to locate the layout you'd like to change.
  3. Click on the Field tool in the palette on the left side of the window (fourth row left).
  4. Click in the layout at the location where you'd like to add the field, and drag a rectangle.
  5. When you lift up the mouse, you'll see a field choice dialog.
  6. Choose Breakdown Item Count to see the total number of breakdown lines, Breakdown Total Price to see the sum of all prices, or Breakdown Total Quantity to see the sum of all quantities.
  7. Choose Save from the File menu to save changes.

To add these new custom fields to a report, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Custom Layouts from the Options menu, and choose Report from the submenu.
  2. Use the popup fields at upper left to locate the report you'd like to change.
  3. Click on the report table.
  4. Choose Add Column to Table from the Edit menu.
  5. Choose Breakdown Item Count to see the total number of breakdown lines, Breakdown Total Price to see the sum of all prices, or Breakdown Total Quantity to see the sum of all quantities.
  6. Choose Save from the File menu to save changes.

Technical Details

We use the Breakdown Total Quantity field to get a report of total attendance for each of our training classes!
