Group Deposits

Problem

The Project Job Costs report shows incorrect income if you previously used the Deposit Funds command to combine payments from more than one project in a single deposit.

Caught By

User bug report.

Workaround

Use the Job Costs command (from the Costs menu). It is smarter about calculating project income.

You can also deposit payments for each project individually so the income calculation used in version 3.5 and earlier does not get confused.

Solution

This problem is fixed in Goldenseal project accounting software version 3.6 and later.

Technical Details

Each Project account stores a list of payments, but we weren't checking whether the deposit also covered income from other source (which happens when you use Deposit Funds to combine payments from several different accounts).
