When you template a Material Purchase used that has Pricing Only as a status, Goldenseal cost estimating software now keeps that status. That makes it easier to use templates for material price requests.

How to Use

To make a standard material price request form so you can get the latest prices from one of your material suppliers, follow these steps:

1. Choose Material Purchases from the Costs menu.
2. Click the New button.
3. Enter Pricing Only into the Status popup field on the left.
4. Enter items into the Breakdown popup field on the left.
5. Click in the first row of the breakdown table, and enter the first material you'd like to get a price quote on.
6. Hit the Enter key (Windows) or Return key (Mac) to add a new row.
7. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until you have a list of all the materials for which you want prices.

To create a Template of the price request form, so you can use it again in the future, follow these steps:

1. Choose Template This Item from the Option s menu.
2. Type in a name for the template-- for example, "material price request"

The next time you want to update material prices in Goldenseal cost estimating software, follow these steps:

1. Click on the template button (the triangle next to the New button).
2. You'll see a popup menu of template choices. Choose the one you created in the previous section.
3. Fill current prices into the new purchase form.
