Critical Path Schedules |
Does Goldenseal handle Critical Path scheduling (CPM)? No, Goldenseal scheduling software currently use a very simple approach-- they just list each item in the project, and assume you will do them in order from top to bottom. HINT-- This approach is not as accurate as CPM, but it still gives reasonable schedules for projects that take 3 months or less. In future versions we may add some simple links in the Assemblies records so you can create dependencies between items, and figure work that can be done in parallel. We won't create a full critical path diagram but we can do a better job of showing project structure. If this is a feature you really want, please let us know! HINT-- Goldenseal does one thing much better than other scheduling programs-- it contains Assemblies records which include the time it takes to do each task. That means it can calculate the time it takes for each task, so you don't have to guess on the details. The current version of Goldenseal already exports schedules, which you can then import into critical path scheduling software. Click here to return to the under development feature directory.
