Type-In Payroll Deductions |
How do I type in a deduction that I calculated by some other method? For almost all payroll deductions, you can set up a Tax Item in Goldenseal payroll software that will automatically calculate the amount to deduct. If it has a complex calculation, you may also need to use a Tax Table to handle progressive rates or other details. However, if the deduction amount is irregular or if you want to use some other method to calculate a payroll deduction, here's how you can do it. Deduction Setup To create a Tax Item that allows you to type in an amount each pay period, follow these steps:
To use the Tax Item, follow these steps:
NOTE-- In Goldenseal payroll software versions 4.45 and earlier, the Typed-In Amount option is not available. In those versions, you can turn on the Allow Payroll Deduction Changes checkbox in Options--Preferences--Expenses. That will allow you to type in values for any deductions.
