Converting From Goldenseal 2.2 & Later |
How do I convert from Goldenseal 2.2 to later versions? We have frozen the file format in Goldenseal small business software versions 2.2 and later. That means that you don't need to do anything special to open your company file with a newer version. Opening Files with the New Version After you install a newer version of Goldenseal, you can open your company file with it in any of the following ways:
NOTE-- If you double-click on the Company File icon in Macintosh, it may open with an older copy of Goldenseal. To be sure it will open with the newest version of Goldenseal, you'll need to remove older copies of the Goldenseal application from your hard drive. File Conversion When you open your company file with a newer version, Goldenseal automatically converts it to the new format. Once that happens, you can't open it any longer with the older version. HINT-- It's always a good idea to make a backup copy of your company file before you open it with a newer version. That way you can always go back to the original if you still need to open it with the older version for any reason. File conversions usually happen instantly, but some version upgrades may update your company data to a newer version-- which may take a few minutes in some cases.
