Changing Field Tab Order |
Problem The user is hitting the Move Forward or Move Back command, and the tab order isn't changing! Diagnosis This usually happens after they have added a custom field or an optional field to Goldenseal accounting software. They're trying to set the tab order but it doesn't move right away. Solution Keep trying! Eventually you'll get past the label fields and start changing the tab order. EXPLANATION-- Goldenseal layers all of the fields in the layout, including the text labels. So when they do 'move to front' or 'move to back', it may be swapping positions with labels, which won't affect the tab order for the data fields. It goes faster if you use the keyboard shortcuts-- hold down the Control key (Windows) or Command key (Macintosh) and hit the minus key to go backwards, or the plus key to go forwards. HINT-- When there are many labels, it's easier to do Move to Front on each of the fields that are earlier in the tab order (just start at the bottom and work your way to the top, one field at a time). Use Control-1 or Command-1 to make it go faster. Comments Entered 1/28/05 by Casey. Updated 11/14/2010. |
