Project Value Completed

Problem

Job cost control worksheet doesn't give any 'value of work completed' for a job with actual costs only-- no estimated costs entered in MacNail construction accounting software.

Diagnosis

that's how it's supposed to be-- usually on a bid job, you get paid for the original contract (bid) amount, not actual costs.

Solution

If they want to base 'value of work completed' on actual costs for cost-plus work, do the following:
1. click on the 'value of hard costs completed' number. The formula is something like {=SUM(K4:K33*I4:I33)/100}. Change the I's to J's, then hold down the command key and hit enter key so it's put in as array formula.
2. repeat above for 'value of work completed'. Note that #1 doesn't exist in pre 3.4 worksheets.
