Problem
doesn't show all menu commands for MacNail
construction
accounting software in XL8 or newer versions
missing lookup formulas command, query formulas cmd in
MacNail construction accounting software
NOTE-- Goldenseal accounting
software does not require
Excel, and it's much more reliable than MacNail.
Diagnosis
They don't see *lookup formulas, *macnail options or some other command
1. first have them look in other menus- we had to move some things from Edit to Insert, and newer Excel versions
sometimes "jump" some commands to other menus (try Data and Help)
2. Can duplicate any menu command by following solution below
3. There was a bug fixed 5/24/99. . See fix in the "comments' area
Solution
How to run the Lookup
Formulas command when it's not
available
1. Choose Macro from the Tools menu, and choose Macros submenu
2. Scroll down the list to change.lookup or change.data (query)
3. Click on it, then click Run.
HINT- if you GoTo "file.menu", "edit.menu" etc in the manager, you can see all menu commands and
the macro command equivalents.
These steps fix a bug from 5/24/99
1. open the XL8 version here
2. Use goto command to find the menu with problems
3. Have them use goto to select the upper left cell (text is white so they can't see words)
4. Have them drag down and over to select the correct cell range
5. Choose Name from the Insert menu, and choose the Define submenu
6. Have them type in the menu name, then hit OK.
7. Close and re-open manager. Menus will be displayed correctly.
