Job Cost Only Status |
Problem They have entered expenses with Job Cost Only status. They don't show up in a job cost breakdown. What does Job Cost Only mean? Diagnosis There was a bug in some very early versions of Goldenseal job cost accounting software, that skipped Job Cost Only in one of the breakdowns for the Job Costs menu command (when you double-click and "drill down" to more details). Fixed a long while back. Solution If they have the buggy version, use one of the job cost reports instead (e.g. Reports--Projects--Cost by Category). Expenses entered as Job Cost Only will show up in job cost reports as an expense, but they aren't included in Accounts Payable (or Payroll if a Labor Hours record). Use them for jobs that were 1/2 done when they started using Goldenseal job costing software. That way they can see all expenses. Comments Entered 6/23/04 by Dennis. Updated 11/6/2010. |
