Checking Accounts vs Checkbooks |
Problem How do I handle multiple checkbooks? Diagnosis Users are sometimes confused by the difference between a Checking
Account and a checkbook. Solution If two checkbooks show up on the same bank statement, then enter them as two checkbooks in the checking account. The most common situation is to print checks in the office, but have a 'field book' for occasional checks written in the field. HINT-- If users hand-write on printed checks in the field, grab some from the back of the pile and use that check number sequence for the field book. If each account has its own running total and has separate account numbers and statements, then enter them as two separate Checking Accounts. There is more about this in Special Topics.
