NOTE-- We retired the BidMagic Material Takeoff
Software in 2001. It has been replaced by Goldenseal Material
Takeoff Software.
We still include this BidMagic estimating software manual
as a convenience for users of our older program. Many features are
similar, in Goldenseal estimating.

NOTE: Menu commands that
are not listed here are described in the regular BidMagic Manual, pages 408-410).
Find
The Find command lets you find material items, either in the price book or in
assemblies.
When changing Material Prices
Choose Find in the Material Manager to find a particular price item, when you don't know its full name, or don't
know which category it belongs to.
When you choose this command, you'll be asked to type in a word or text to look for.
When you click OK, the BidMagic Material Takeoff Software will search for the first item with that
text in its name.
If that's not the correct item, choose Find Again from the Edit menu (or type Cmd-G) to find the next
occurrence of the text.
When working with Assemblies
When you are working with material assemblies, use the Find command
to find the category to which a particular material belongs.
To find a material, follow these steps:
1. In the Unit Price card, click on the Assemblies button.
2. Choose Find from the Edit menu.
3. When asked what material to search for, enter the text you'd like to find, then click OK.
4. The BidMagic Material Takeoff Software will look for the first material category that contains
a material item that includes that text. You can then use the pop-up buttons to add that material to the
assembly.
5. To find any other categories which contain material items that include the same text, choose Find Again
from the Edit menu.
Find Again
Choose Find Again to find the next occurrence of an item which you have been
searching for with the Find command.
Suppliers
Choose Suppliers to edit the list of material suppliers.
To add a new supplier, click the
Add button, then type in the new supplier name.
To delete a supplier, click on the name of the supplier in the list, then click the Delete
button.
To rename a supplier, click on the name of the supplier in the list,
then click the Rename button and type in the new name.
Click Done when you are finished editing the supplier list.
Rename Category
Choose Rename Category to rename the current category. Enter a new name for
the category, and click OK. The new name will now be displayed in the category pop-up.
