NOTE-- Our new Goldenseal software replaced MacNail back in 2000. It's a complete, stand-alone software package for Macintosh and Windows, that includes construction spec writing, plus accounting, construction estimating, and project management, We continue to keep the MacNail manuals online as a convenience for die-hard users! You can also get subcontracts, contracts and specification sheets from Goldenseal, through an interface that is much easier to use.

Options Menu

The Options menu contains commands that are used to set the way Spec Writer works, and how it handles contracts.

Set Flags...

Choose Set Flags to determine how allowances and other items are handled in an Estimate or Clauses file from the MacNail construction management software.

Subcontractors...

Choose Subcontractors to edit the list of subcontractors used when making a new subcontract in the MacNail project management software.

See pages 55 to 56 for further instructions.

HINT: Use the Apply button when entering subcontractors into a Clauses file, to ensure that they are spelled correctly and not missed in a subcontract.
