Entering Material Costs

The MacNail construction accounting software lets you 'split' an invoice that includes several different items.

NOTE-- In 2000, MacNail was replaced by Goldenseal construction accounting software. Goldenseal is an integrated program that includes general accounting, job costing, payroll and project billing, plus estimating and other features. It also works well for tracking material expenses.

To enter the other items in the example from the previous page:

1. Because we have reached the last line of the Sample Material Log, choose *Add Rows from the EDIT menu. An additional 20 blank lines will be added to the Logbook, and the 'lookup' formulas will be removed from the previous rows.
2. Notice that the job number, supplier number, date and invoice number have been repeated from the item you just entered. You won't have to change them for the next three items on this bill.
3. Today's date has been automatically entered for the new items. Adjust it if the billing or shipping date is a different date.
4. In the item, units, unit price, category and subcategory columns, type roofing nails, 1, $42.50, F and 13 in the first blank row.
5. Type felt roofing, 6, $9.47, H and 1 in the same columns of the second blank row.
