Goldenseal uses popup fields to show a fixed list of items. You can click on the field, and choose a value.

Popup Field Basics

Popup fields let you choose from a fixed set of choices. Each popup field is a simple rectangle, with a down-facing triangle on its right side.

In the example on the right, Job Class is a popup field.

Entering Popup Values

To choose an item from a popup menu, follow these steps:

1. Click the mouse anywhere in the popup field, and keep holding the mouse button down.
2. You'll see a menu of possible choices. Move the mouse cursor so the desired item is highlighted (darkened).
3. Release the mouse button.
4. The selected value will be entered into the field.

Disabled Popup Fields

Some records may be locked in Goldenseal small business software, so you can't enter data into them. In that case, any popup fields will be grayed out, and nothing will happen when you click on them.
