Too Many Required Fields

Problem

Some of the fields in Goldenseal accounting software 3.2 and earlier were marked as user required. Goldenseal would nag you if you'd turn on the User Required Fields option in Data Entry Preferences, and then leave them blank.

Solution

Fixed in the version 3.3 update for Goldenseal construction accounting software.

If you use the standard data entry layouts, this problem will automatically be solved.

If you customized some layouts, you may need to fix them using the steps described below.

Workaround

To turn off improperly required fields yourself, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Custom Layouts from the Options menu, and choose Accounts or Transactions.
  2. Use the popup fields at upper left to locate the data entry layout that has the required field.
  3. Double-click on the field that is giving warnings.
  4. Turn off the Required Value checkbox.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Choose Save from the File menu.
