Stump and Tree Removal Pricing

Stump and tree removal don't have a cost!

There is an error in the unit costs for stump removal < 8 inches and tree removal < 8 inches for some early versions of Goldenseal estimating software.

NOTE-- The components were lost accidentally due to an import bug which put them into closet shelving instead.

To fix this problem, follow these steps:

1. Open your company file.
2. Choose Assemblies from the Costs menu.
3. Choose Find from the Edit menu.
4. Enter 24 into the record number field at way upper right.
5. Click the Find button.
6. You'll be at the assembly for stump removal.
7. In the first component row, enter Labor in the first column, and Unskilled Labor in the Cost Item column. Enter 1.25 for the quantity.
8. Hit the Enter key or Return key to add a row.
9. Enter Equipment in the first column, and Chain Saw in the Cost Item column. Enter 0.2 for the quantity.
10. Repeat the steps above for #25. Figure 1.5 unskilled hours and .2 chain saw days.

If you are using Goldenseal 2.94 or later with older unit costs, you can import the costs. To do so, follow these steps:

1. Click the link to download the latest stump costs.
2. Save the stumpcosts.txt file on your hard drive at a convenient place.
3. Open your company file.
4. Choose Import from the File menu, and choose Payroll Update from the submenu.
5. Locate the stumpcosts.txt file on your hard drive and open it.
6. Goldenseal will add the correct components to the two assemblies.

WARNING-- Don't do the import with Goldenseal 2.93 or earlier! The import will add them to oak shelving instead.
