W-2 Year End Periods |
Problem when doing w-2
forms, how do you handle the first and last pay period (which may be split
between the two years)? Diagnosis User not sure how to use MacNail construction payroll software to handle pay periods that are close to Dec 31. Solution W-2 and all other payroll reporting is based on the PAYDAY (the day the checks are passed out to employees). If a
payday is in this year, it's included in this year's
W-2 reports. NOTE-- it's not legal to shift the pay day so it's moved to another year. You're supposed to do it on a regular basis, period. Comments Entered 10/11/95 by Dennis. Updated 11/23/2010. |
