printing on ImageWriter- auto-feeds a page or half-page.

Diagnosis
It feeds an extra page or half page
when using a dot matrix printer with MacNail construction accounting software, to print checks
Solution
as far as I know there is no way to solve it, except to turn off the select button in the middle
of the feed, roll it back, then turn it on again.
