Latest Material Prices

We have updated material prices in Goldenseal to reflect recent price changes. Click the link to import material prices updated in October and November 2005.

Unit Cost Estimating Improvements

We are gradually rechecking each of the assemblies in our cost estimating software as we write up detailed descriptions for the unit costs. While we do that, we are also making many small fixes and improvements that you can download. Here is a list of recent changes.

To use the unit price downloads, follow these steps:

1. Before you begin, make a backup copy so you can go back if you don't like the changes.
2. Click the download link, and save the text file on your hard drive.
3. Open your company file.
4. Choose Import from the File menu, and choose ^^Other Update from the submenu.
5. Locate the text file that you just downloaded from the website.
6. Click OK.
7. Goldenseal will automatically update the unit costs in your file.

**If you have an older version of Goldenseal, you may not see the Other Update command. In that case, use the Payroll Update command. It does exactly the same thing.

State Payroll Changes

As of 5/21/05 we have improved the Arizona tax withholding setup so it is easier to use for employees who choose alternate withholding rates on their A-4 form. Click to download the latest version.

As of 1/15/06 e now have separate Tax Items for all Indiana county taxes. If you need to collect Indiana payroll taxes, click the link to download the latest tax file.

To use the state payroll downloads, follow these steps:

1. Before you begin, make a backup copy so you can go back if you don't like the changes.
2. Click the download link, and save the text file on your hard drive. NOTE-- Some browsers may open a window showing the text-- choose Save from the File menu to save it on your drive.
3. Open your company file.
4. Choose Import from the File menu, and choose Payroll Update from the submenu.
5. Locate the text file that you just downloaded from the website.
6. Click OK.
7. Goldenseal will automatically update the payroll tax tables in your file.

2005 Payroll Tax Withholding Tables

Pay Stub Layout

If you pay cash to your employees, we now have a pay stub layout that prints payroll info from Cash transactions.

To add it to your company file, follow these steps:

1. Click the link above and download the layout file onto your hard drive.
2. If your browser doesn't automatically decompress the zip file, use WinZip, Stuffit Expander or Zipit to decompress it, and save Pay_Stub_Layout.layt onto your drive.
3. Make a backup copy of your company file!
4. Open your company file with Goldenseal.
5. Choose Import from the File menu, choose Other Items from the submenu, and choose Print Form Layouts from the second submenu.
6. Locate the downloaded Pay Stub Layout file, and import it.

To use the new print form, choose Print Forms from the File menu, and enter Cash Transactions into the Transaction field.

HINT-- You can use the Custom Layouts command to change the form's appearance.

MacNail Conversion Utility

You can convert your data from MacNail to Goldenseal with our converter. It's a one-time macro that looks at all your MacNail files and prepares them to import into Goldenseal.
