Using a Project List

You can also make a contract from a project list. A project list is a simple extraction that you can make from an Estimate file, using the Estimating Manager. It includes just those items in Specifications that are actually used on the project.

It's faster to make a contract from a project list in the MacNail project management software , rather than from an estimate.

Using a Schedule

You can also make a contract from a MacNail schedule (or a schedule from any program that uses a similar file format). A schedule is created from an estimate, using the Scheduling Manager. It is similar to a project list, but its formulas have been changed so it serves as a time-line schedule in the MacNail construction management software .

It's slightly faster to make a contract from a schedule, rather than from an estimate. However you won't be able to use the contract for labor-and-materials allowances, since labor costs are not included in the schedule.

Using a BidMagic Spec Sheet

If you use BidMagic (formerly BidWorks), you can make a contract from a spec sheet created by that program.

To make a spec sheet, follow these steps:
1. First create an estimate using BidMagic.
2. Choose Export Specifications from the Data menu. Be sure to save the file inside the BidMagic Files folder, located inside the BidMagic Folder.
