Opening Contracts in a Word Processor

Linking to your Word Processor

Contracts and subcontracts are usually created by the MacNail project management software as word processor (text) documents. Text documents can be opened by any word processor program, such as Word, MacWrite, WriteNow, Word Perfect, Nisus, or even the simple TeachText program that comes with every Macintosh, or the NotePad program that comes with Windows.

NOTE: Text documents can also be opened by Excel, although only the first 255 characters of each line will be included.

To open a contract with a word processor, follow these steps:
1. Open your favorite word processor program .
2. Choose Open from the File menu.
3. You'll be shown a 'File Open' dialog.
4. If necessary, move to the Contracts folder inside the Spec Writer folder (see page 57).
5. Click on the desired contract.
6. Click Open.
