Making New Schedules

To create a new schedule in the MacNail construction scheduling software, choose *New Schedule from the File menu. You'll be able to get detailed project information from any MacNail estimate, or from a project list originally created from an estimate.

To calculate the duration for each construction item, MacNail scheduling will multiply the number of units (column D in a MacNail estimate) by the person-hours/unit figures stored in the labor cost database (columns H and I).

Items that you typed into an estimate by hand will be included in the schedule only if you entered numbers in both column D, and in either column H or column I.

Costs entered in other ways (a dollar value typed directly into a line item, the Clearinghouse or the Summation) will not be included in the schedule. Subcontractor labor will be included as long as there are unit quantities in column D for the subcontracted items.

NOTE: You can also create a new schedule "from scratch". However, you'll have to type in each activity and the time it takes. You will also need to add item code numbers if you want to make material takeoffs or tool lists, or use the *Get Schedule Reminders command.
