Each item line in the Specifications list of the MacNail
construction estimating software includes the following items:
*
Column A--a brief description of the item.
*
Column B--the size of one unit. LF stands for lineal feet, and SF stands for square feet.
*
Column C--the suggested number of units to be used for this item. It is calculated from the numbers that have
been entered in the Dimensions portion of the worksheet.
*
Columns D--the actual number of units to be used for this item. For example, 52 lineal feet of 2x6 sill will be
included in the bid shown here. Items that will not be included in the bid will have a 0 (zero) in this column.
*
Columns E, F and G--the calculated labor, material, and subcontractor prices for this item, based on the unit
prices entered in the worksheet and the number of units actually used.
*
Columns H, I and J--the unit prices for this item. Column H is the number of skilled person-hours per unit (using
the same unit size as is listed in Column B). Column I is the number of unskilled person-hours per unit,
and Column J is the dollar cost of materials, per unit.
NOTE: If you can't see these columns, then you have the
unit prices hidden. Choose *Reset Unit Price Display from the FORMAT menu to show them.
*
Column K--a code number for this item. This number helps MacNail to identify this item when creating schedules,
and when working with the customizing and database portion of MacNail.
