All of the dimensions in this section are calculated for
you by the MacNail construction estimating software, based on the dimensions you have already typed
in. You can change any of these values if you need to (see page 71).

For new construction, you should rarely need to adjust any of the calculated dimensions.

For an addition, only work on the new rooms (and at the contact wall) will be included. Any work on the existing
structure should be added to these numbers by hand.

For gut/rehab and remodeling projects, the calculated dimensions should be checked carefully.
NOTE: The
Hyper*Remodeler's room-by-room approach to estimating is much more accurate for gut/rehab and remodeling
projects.
