This section lets you include or exclude any section of the estimate. On this project we will assume all work will be a part of the bid--enter TRUE into each cell, if it is not already there.

Financial Formulas

Various financial formulas are located in the right part of Dimensions. To see them, scroll to the right, and back up to the top of Dimensions.

Type the following amounts into the MacNail construction estimating software:

1. Performance bond and Finance charges--type values into the 'mini-calculators' to include costs for either of these items.
2. Inflation allowance--to figure inflation into your project cost, type in the current annual inflation rate and some time estimates for the project. An inflation percentage will be added automatically.
3. Percent and Other Additions--these cells give you a chance to type in any percentage or dollar add-ons that will account for any unusual project conditions.
4. Supervision percentage--type in percentages for general supervision--supervision costs that can't be divided between specific job categories. A reasonable figure would be 1% to 5% each for labor, materials and subcontractors.
