Unusual Calculations
A few of the 'units
used' cells are calculated from another item by the MacNail construction estimating
software-- they
are cell protected, and in italic. They will appear automatically if the linked item is included in
the bid.
Items that are handled this way:
* Concrete walls, footers and slabs--type in the length of wall or
area of floor, and cubic yards of concrete will be calculated. Wall or slab thickness is set in the Dimensions section
(see page 92). The cubic yard
price for concrete includes the concrete and the cost of placing it. The cost per foot or square foot includes
the cost of forms and/or finishing.
* Treated wood foundations--type in the foundation length that will get a wood-framed foundation, and
the total foundation area will be covered with treated plywood automatically.
* Downspouts--if gutters are entered, downspouts of the same type are added automatically. For wood
gutters, galvanized iron gutters will be specified.
* Extension jambs--extension jambs of the same material will be added automatically, based on the type
of casings selected. If your windows do not have extension jambs, remove them by choosing *Remove from Bid in the EDIT
menu.
* .Door jambs--will be added for carpenter-hung doors only, based on the type of casing selected.
* Power pole--one pole will be added for each 200 ft of overhead electric service.
*
Carpet--to include carpet only, enter a number in the carpet row. To include equal areas of carpet and pad, enter
a number in the pad row.
