Estimator Style Sheets

To apply a style to a construction estimator file, follow these steps:

1. Choose Apply Style from the Format menu.
2. You will first be asked which Style Sheet to use as a source. You will then be asked for an Estimator to which the style will be applied.
3. Both files will be opened automatically, and the 'units used' column in the Estimator will be set up to match that of the original source estimating file.

4. If some items on the style sheet are not found on the estimating file to which the style is being applied, you'll have the option to have the missing items flagged in the Price Master automatically. That will make it easier to add the missing items to the new estimating file with the Move Prices command, later on.

HINT: Before applying a style to a construction estimator, you may want to open the Price Master and use the Remove Flags command (see page 215) to clear all existing flags. That way only those items missing from the estimator will be used.

To apply a style to an estimate:

To apply a style to an estimate rather than an estimator, follow the same steps as above, but make sure that the estimate is the active document (in front) before you start.
