Working with Specifications Line Items

The Specifications section in each MacNail estimating worksheet includes a 'block' of several rows for each cost category or subcategory. At the top of each block is a heading row showing totals for labor, materials and subs. Beneath the heading is a 'checklist' of one or more Specifications line items, showing construction choices that fit under that particular category.

These Specifications line items are the 'heart' of the MacNail construction estimating software-- they are what you'll use to spell out exactly how the project will be built, and how much of each type of construction will be included in the final contract price.
