Adding a New Cost Category

To add a whole new category to a MacNail construction estimate or construction estimator, follow these steps:

1. Go to Summation, Clearinghouse or Specifications in the estimating worksheet. Click the mouse at the spot where you'd like to add the new category.
2. Choose Add Category from the Format menu.
NOTE: The category that you've selected will be moved downwards, and the new category will be inserted at the selected location.
3. If the estimating worksheet does not have subcategories, you will only be able to add a new main category-- proceed immediately to step 4a. If you 're in the Summation, jump directly to step 4b.

Otherwise, click 'Entire new category' at the first dialog, then jump to step 4b on the following page.
