One disk is mailed as a part of this package. It includes
all of the files you need to run MacNail Customizing, in 'compressed' form.
To load MacNail Customizing
onto your hard disk:
1. If you have purchased several MacNail modules, install the other modules first, using the printed
instructions that come with the floppy disks.
2. If you are already in DOS at the DOS prompt, proceed to step 3. If you are in Windows, switch to the Program
Manager, open the Main window, and double click on the DOS Prompt icon.
3. Put the MacNail Customizing disk into your floppy disk drive.
4. Switch to your floppy drive by typing A:\ then the Enter key.
NOTE: If the MacNail floppy disk is in some drive other than the A drive, type B:\ or the letter for the
drive which contains it.
5. At the A: prompt, type LOADCUST -d c:\ then hit the Enter key. If you would rather install MacNail onto
your D drive or some other drive, end the command line with d:\ or some other drive letter instead.
WARNING: It is extremely important that you type -d (hyphen d) to insure that MacNail's directory
tree is loaded properly.
There must be spaces before and after the -d.
6. You may be asked whether to replace the MacNail Manager (MACNAIL@.XLM). Type y for yes so the latest version will be installed.
7. A copy of the latest MacNail Manager (MACNAIL@.XLM) and a CUSTOM directory will be installed on your hard disk, inside
the MACNAIL directory installed previously by the other MacNail
project management software modules.

8. When you open the MACNAIL directory, it should look similar to the illustration on the following page. You may not have
all of the listed MacNail directories if you have not purchased all of the MacNail modules or have not yet installed them
on your hard disk.
9. Make sure that the contents of your Customizing directory look similar to the illustration on page 12.
10. The installation is now complete, and you can proceed to the next chapter.
