Checkbook Ledger Basics

The balance forward (or starting balance) for the account is found at the very top of each Ledger in the MacNail construction accounting software. This amount will be equal to the last balance in the previous Ledger for this account.

If you make a mistake and need to change the balance forward, type in a new number. All items in the running total column will also be changed.

Each transaction (such as a check, a deposit, or a service charge) will get one line in the Checkbook Ledger. Type data only into cells that have a full border around them.
