Construction unit cost for installing a sand filter for treating septic tank discarge.

Labor and Equipment Costs

We figure one unskilled laborer hour per 25 square feet of filter area, plus one hour of bulldozer and operator time per 30 square feet of filter area.

Material Costs

The price includes one foot of 4" perforated drain line per 4 square feet of filter area, plus a few fasteners. It also includes one ton of filter sand per 100 square feet of filter area.

Suggested Quantity

Required area will be determined by code and/or perk test.
